Testimonials for Jacqueline and Nurtured Beginnings
She Took Initiative...
I've had the pleasure of working with Jaqueline as our postpartum doula this year. I highly recommend her services. First and foremost, she is an incredibly hard worker. It was easy to tell that her work is more than just employment, she truly is passionate about providing support to families after a new member of the family arrives. In our case, that new member was our third child. It was such a joy to welcome him, but with two older children I had way more on my plate than I could handle.
Jaqueline stepped in and did what needed to be done. She took initiative to tackle whatever needed doing without being asked and also was listened when I had specific things I felt like I needed to accomplish for my peace of mind. She was mindful to look out for my needs as well as my boys. She never failed to bring me water when I was nursing. That may seem like a small thing, but it was so, so helpful. It's important, but oh so easy to forget.
She was great with my older boys and patient with them. Not an easy task! Jacqueline is also incredibly knowledgeable in the area of lactation. You might think that a Mom that hasbreastfed two previous babies might be set in that department. Not the case. I had lots of questions about what I could do to ensure I kept my milk supply up, etc. Jacqueline was wonderful! She gave me tips that helped make pumping much more comfortable. She was able to answer all of my questions about milk storage and use. It was so, so helpful.
I learned a lot and felt more confident in my decisions as a result. If you're considering working with Jacqueline, definitely do. I've worked with several postpartum doulas over the years (3 boys!) and Jacqueline is definitely one of my favorites.”
This experience was life-changing!
"I reached out just prior to my son’s birth and had an in-home visit with Jackie in the early days after he arrived. First Catherine and Jackie were very accommodating with my schedule even though they were booked out, given that I wanted to book a consultation within a few days after birth but was uncertain when baby would arrive.
Secondly, it was a huge luxury having Jackie come visit me at home, where I am set up with my own supplies vs having to travel while recovering and figuring out how to do it all with anew baby. Most of all, Jackie was extremely gentle and reassuring, giving me tips on everything from pumping to milk supply and bottle feeding. I was afraid of feeling judged for not getting it right, but instead I got nothing but overwhelming support and help when I needed it most. Jackie also made herself available and accessible for questions & follow up, and her communication throughout the entire process was very professional and efficient.
Not to be dramatic, but this experience was life changing! I was ready to give up on breastfeeding, but Jackie’s visit completely turned around my confidence to make breastfeeding/pumping work for me and my baby. I am so happy and grateful to Jackie (and Catherine) and will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for lactation services."
We highly recommend...
The first words that come to mind on Jacqueline are nurturing, warm, caring, and helpful - incredibly supportive and calming. She's incredibly passionate about her work as a postpartum doula and she is a special part of my journey as a new mom and helping me grow in confidence and knowledge as I learned to care for our daughter and myself. The first time she visited, breastfeeding was very challenging and continued to be - she helped me with positioning, baby's latch, brought me (an ENTIRE batch) of very delicious lactation cookies and the recipe, a breastfeeding book, and held daughter for an hour while she cried (she had colic) so I could rest.
She even brought us donor milk, which was a huge relief when our daughter couldn't tolerate the formula very early on. She also helped us prep for our first airplane trip, sending over a list of helpful products on Amazon - she even stopped by to drop off some baby travel size products before the trip! She was a big part of helping us prepare and feel confident for our first family trip. She checked in frequently when we worked with her to see how we were doing, after our trip, and even just from time to time to see how we were doing. She really cares and it shows.
She also researched things I was interested in - from mom/baby yoga and dance classes to swim lessons to baby-wearing classes. Which I then shared with my PEPS group - she definitely helped make my maternity leave more fun! She's incredibly personable, flexible and professional, too - the last thing you want as a new parent is someone flaky, hard to communicate with, etc. She follows up quickly in email, texts, communicates clearly, very reliable, and showed up early. Her follow-through is excellent - every time she said she'd bring a book, email me articles or links to resources, etc she did it - and quickly. We highly recommend Jacqueline!”
